With FileCatalyst Direct 2.7.4 comes a list of notable improvements and new features, including Amazon EC2 licensing and new methods for applet JavaScript API.

New to FileCatalyst 2.7.4:

  • FileCatalyst Direct now available as an hourly or monthly AMI for Amazon EC2
  • Ability to specify SSL ciphers for FileCatalyst Server
  • Database authentication model (ie: MySQL) available
  • Additional methods to JavaScript interface for applets
    • Upload applet: determine selected file in queue
    • Upload and download applet: determine all files in queue
    • Upload and download applet: callback once applet has loaded
    • Upload and download applet: launch FC file browser
    • browseLive() method now returns path selected by user
    • Improved Upload and Download applet documentation
  • Separate buttons for Pause and Cancel buttons for applets.
  • Enabled some upload applet buttons (ie: add to queue) optional
  • Download applet now has “autoreveal” feature to launch file explorer
  • Download applet now has “Launch” button to execute downloaded file
  • Improvements to upgrade of HotFolder on Mac OSX
  • Added servlet URL field to HotFolder site-creating wizard
  • Express connection manager warns if congestion control disabled
  • Process verification when lauching FileCatalyst Server and HotFolder (running multiple intentional or not)
